The waist-to hip-ratio has often been this sign of attractiveness in women. This shape is often called the hourglass shape. And lots of different ideas, lots of different theories of why men find these women more attractive. One idea is that this is associated with a healthier woman. Another idea is that wider hips means that women are able to withstand and be able to deliver babies better.Around the hips rather than the waist can sometimes mean that the women have more stability of their legs for pregnant women. It means that they’re more likely to have improved fatty acids for brain development of the fetus and infant. Just a sign of overall healthiness. Like a good, healthy fat versus women who may or may not have this ratios higher waist to hip ratios. That means the waist is gonna be bigger than the hips can be associated with lots of other medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gallbladder disease, menstrual irregularities, and a bunch of other health considerations.
So, from a “making yourself more attractive” standpoint, this waist to hip ratio has been super important. Now there’s a bunch of things that women can do. They talk about being healthier and exercising more and diet. But for those women who kind of get stuck this is where I think some things like noninvasive treatments can be helpful. Noninvasive treatments like CoolSculpting. It’s been proven in multiple studies to decrease that waist area circumferentially. And so what you’re doing is you’re slowly reshaping your waist-to-hip ratio to be closer to ideal. Part of what we do is to feel more attractive. And doing so by feeling more attractive, tends to be more of a one plus one equals three, rather than one plus one equals two effect.
And so women tend to say, “Hey, guess what? I really see this positive feedback I’m getting, I’m gonna keep doing other things.” Whether it’s more additional noninvasive procedures or ideally eating healthier and working out more.
So, this waist-to-hip ratio is programmed in our heads. And despite that we say that we want to embrace all body types, which I think is healthy, as well. We are programmed to like this lower waist-to-hip ratio. And I think Coolsculpting should be one consideration in the factors to improve it.
