There was a recent study that was just published in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology titled, Submental fat reduction using sequential treatment approach with cryolipolysis and ATX-1011, In this study they combined Cryolipolysis which is Coolsculpting Elite with Kybella, which is also a a mechanism of reducing fat. And what they found was that patients who did this, not surprisingly, had even more changes than just Cryolipolysis alone. And we find this in our own practice. that
We found this in our own practice that the combination of Kybella, also known as “Ky-Belly” with CoolSculpting Elite makes a big difference. In fact, I’ve done this myself and it can be a game changer. It’s nice to combine these two treatments together. You’re going to get a slower removal of fat with CoolSculpting Elite, which will take place over about a three month span.
With Kybella, you’re going to get a period of inflammation. That’s the enzymatic breakdown of fat that is occuring right away. You should be able to see something within that first three weeks to a month. So it’s nice to kind of have that stagger so patients don’t have to wait to see that result as much. And it’s nice to kind of get the compounding effect.
The other reason I like this combination together is that you can treat fat in different areas. You can have the fat that’s typically going to be treated with CoolSculpting Elite that’s going to get bunched up in that area. But then you can go more superficially, etched inline and make other things change through there.
So, fun to make those changes in definition and fat elimination with the combination of Coolsculpting Elite and Kybella. This is not the first study to show this, but it reaffirms something that we have done in our practice for a while.
