Who is a Good Candidate for CoolSculpting?

We’re talking about CoolSculpting and so who’s your favorite candidate to do CoolSculpting on guys, girls? Or does it matter?

Christa:

I don’t think it matters. I don’t necessarily have a preference in terms of gender. I think that most of the patients that come in, male or female, they can benefit from CoolSculpting if they’re looking to make those changes.

Dr. Shah:

Is there an area they think does better? Is it stomach, is it legs? Is it arms? Is it

Christa:

Fine? I mean, I work with multiple areas. I do tend to doing the abdomen area just because I feel like you can see the more defining contours of the body. But I do multiple areas. I do the arms, the thighs, inner thighs, abdomen, you name it.

Dr. Shah:

Yeah. I think the area seems to be so common that so many people get lower abdominal adiposity in that part of that. And I know you’re a trainer. Is there a way that people can isolate and lose fat in just one area? Is that even possible? Or is it sort of like, I know the answer to this question by the way.. Or is this something like, Hey, some people just get fat in certain spots?

Christa:

Yeah, it’s super hard to target fat loss in a specific area. For some people, it’s more like genetics too. That plays a factor. So CoolSculpting is great because you’re able to target those stubborn areas while you’re still working out the rest of your body. I still encourage my patients to continue working out and having a good diet. And then CoolSculpting paired with that, it works wondrous.

Dr. Shah:

So if I did like 5,000 sit ups and say, I’m just going to focus on that, obviously it’s just not going to just focus on that area. It doesn’t work that way.

Christa:

Right, Exactly.

Dr. Shah:

It’s sort of a metabolic, you have to lose some fat and aspect of that. And it’s a lifestyle change, diet change.
